El Rastro: A Must See While in Madrid

This past weekend, I visited El Rastro (The Trail), which is a huge open air market in Madrid, Spain.  Luckily, the sun was out and so were the locals.  El Rastro has 3,500 booths on multiple streets south of La Latina neighborhood.  In addition to the booths, you can shop at multiple stores that are located in the area.  Of course, there are some amazing bars to visit and have a drink or two.

El Rastro takes place every Sunday and on some public holidays.  The market opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 3:00 p.m.
