Scottish Parade 2012

For the past three years, my friend Bill and I have journeyed down to Old Town Alexandria, VA to watch the Scottish Christmas Walk or Scottish Parade.  The parade takes place on the first weekend of December. This year was a lot of fun and the weather was absolutely gorgeous.  At the conclusion of the parade the Scottish bands square off on King Street and play traditional Scottish tunes.  It is an amazing experience.  It’s known as the battle of the bands.  For more information on the parade visit http://www.scottishchristmaswalk.com

After the parade we made our traditional visit to Daniel O’Connell’s Restaurant and Bar.  We sipped on some amazing Scotch and had Irish Egg Rolls and Scotch Eggs.  I highly recommend you visit O’Connell’s and have some good Scotch to warm you up.  You can learn more about the pub by visiting http://www.danieloconnells.com
